Osun’s Ikirun College of Health Technology Receives High Praise for Training Standards

The Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) has lauded Ikirun College of Health Technology, Osun State, for its strong commitment to high-quality training, modern facilities, and practical learning tools.

The commendation follows the board’s accreditation exercise, which concluded on Wednesday after a three-day assessment of the institution. According to a statement released by the college’s Public Relations Officer, Adewuyi Adedokun, the exercise was a follow-up to an advisory visit conducted in October 2025.

During the visit, Dr. Mohammed Abdullahi, the accreditation team leader, emphasized the board’s focus on professionalism and quality assurance in community health education. He noted that the assessment ensures institutions meet national standards and that graduates are equipped to serve communities effectively.

Dr. Abdullahi praised the college for its investment in modern teaching equipment, demonstration models, and laboratory tools, highlighting the institution’s commitment to practical learning. He also commended the recruitment of highly qualified faculty and the provision of a conducive environment for training.

“We are impressed with the college’s preparedness and the quality of its facilities. The management’s dedication to combining theoretical and practical training is exemplary,” he said.

In response, Salaudeen Oyewale, Chief Academic Officer at Ikirun College of Health Technology, reaffirmed the institution’s mission to produce well-trained, professionally grounded health practitioners. “We continuously invest in infrastructure, human resources, and quality assurance systems to maintain high training standards,” he stated.

During the accreditation, the board reviewed academic records, curricula, laboratory and classroom functionality, student welfare systems, and staff development programs. Discussions also focused on curriculum implementation, institutional sustainability, and adherence to professional standards.

The CHPRBN expressed overall satisfaction with the college’s organization and readiness, while encouraging continuous improvement to align with evolving standards in Nigeria’s health sector.
