National News – The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra State, AIG Abayomi Oladipo, has officially decorated two officers recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
The ceremony, held at the Zone 13 Headquarters in Ukpo, Dinukofia, on Thursday, highlighted the officers’ dedication and commitment to professional policing.
Oladipo urged the officers to uphold integrity, discipline, and responsive service to citizens as they take on their new responsibilities.
The Zone 13 Command, responsible for policing Anambra and Enugu states, described the promotion as well-deserved and merit-based.
Oladipo emphasized that personnel recognition boosts morale, enhances operational efficiency, and motivates officers to maintain public trust.
“Promotion comes with greater responsibility. We urge the officers to uphold the core values of the Force and sustain quality service to the nation,” he stated during the event.
The newly-promoted officers, DCP Nzota Chidiebere and DCP Blessing Akuchi, expressed gratitude in their vote of thanks, acknowledging the Inspector-General of Police, AIG Oladipo, the Commissioners of Police in Anambra and Enugu, the Command’s Management Team, and the Police Service Commission.
Chidiebere said, “Promotion is a reward for hard work, and we thank God for this milestone. Today marks one of the happiest days in our lives.”
The ceremony was attended by senior police officials, family members, and well-wishers, reflecting the importance of recognizing career achievements within the Nigeria Police Force.
