National News – Former Big Brother Naija housemate Sultana BBNaija has visited Bassey Otu, the governor of Cross River State, offering to serve as a tourism ambassador to help promote the state’s cultural and entertainment potential.

The visit took place during the Easter period at the governor’s country home in Adiabo, located in Odukpani Local Government Area, where the reality TV star pledged to use her platform to showcase the state’s heritage and attractions.

Governor Otu welcomed the visit and described the timing as significant, noting that the Easter season brings attention to the state’s cultural and tourism activities.

He commended Sultana for her achievements on the reality television show and praised her resilience in a competitive entertainment environment.

According to the governor, the state government is intentionally positioning Cross River as a major hub for Nigeria’s creative economy.

He said investments in culture, entertainment, and tourism infrastructure are part of the administration’s strategy to attract visitors and boost economic growth.

Otu also expressed pride in Sultana’s Cross River roots, stating that the state celebrates its indigenes who excel nationally and internationally.

He assured her that the government would support partnerships that strengthen tourism promotion, cultural visibility, and creative industry development.

The governor explained that further discussions would be held to identify specific areas of collaboration between the government and the reality TV personality.

Relevant stakeholders, he said, would also be involved to ensure the initiative contributes to long-term tourism growth.

In her remarks, Sultana praised the governor’s leadership, particularly efforts to improve infrastructure and rebrand Cross River as a cultural destination.

She noted that the state’s progress in tourism promotion has been noticeable.

The reality TV star also highlighted Carnival Calabar as a major platform through which she hopes to promote Cross River’s culture to a wider audience.

Sultana said she is willing to work with the state government in any capacity, including promoting tourism events, supporting the creative industry, and using her public influence to increase the state’s visibility both nationally and globally.

She added that strong partnerships between the government and creative personalities can help position Cross River as a leading tourism and cultural hub in Nigeria.
