EPL: Super-Sub Sesko Fires Manchester United to Vital Win at Everton

Benjamin Sesko came off the bench to score the decisive goal as Manchester United defeated Everton 1-0, boosting their UEFA Champions League qualification hopes and climbing to fourth in the Premier League table.
The victory extends the unbeaten start of interim manager Michael Carrick, who has steadied the Red Devils since taking charge. United are now three points clear of Chelsea and Liverpool in the race for a top-five finish, with Champions League football firmly in sight.

Sesko’s Red-Hot Form Continues

Although yet to start under Carrick, Sesko has emerged as United’s most decisive attacking weapon. The Slovenian forward, who struggled early after his £74 million move from RB Leipzig, has now scored six goals in his last seven matches.

His winner arrived in the 71st minute and was the standout moment in an otherwise cagey contest. Sesko initiated the move deep inside his own half, combining with Matheus Cunha before racing forward to meet Bryan Mbeumo’s precise through ball and finish calmly past Jordan Pickford.

Everton’s Home Woes Deepen

For Everton, the defeat extends a worrying run of seven home matches without a win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Managed by David Moyes, the Toffees remain on the fringes of the European qualification race after missing the opportunity to climb to seventh.

United also showed defensive resilience, recording their third clean sheet in six games since the departure of Ruben Amorim. After a turbulent start to the season, Carrick’s side now appear revitalised and increasingly confident as they push for a long-awaited return to Europe’s elite competition.
