The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has successfully screened and immunised 1,253 intending pilgrims as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Dr. Aminu Da’u, leader of the medical team, confirmed in a statement on Thursday that the exercise was conducted at the Hajj Camp Clinic in Kano. The process involved pilgrims from 20 local government areas, ensuring widespread coverage across the state.
“The exercise aims to ensure all intending pilgrims are medically fit and properly immunised, meeting both national and international health requirements for Hajj operations,” Dr. Da’u said.
The medical screening and immunisation program is being carried out in phases to accommodate all registered pilgrims, with qualified healthcare professionals managing the process with care and professionalism.
Dr. Da’u emphasised the importance of the exercise in safeguarding the health and well-being of pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage, noting that the board is committed to a smooth Hajj operation prioritising safety, health, and welfare.
The screening and immunisation exercise will continue for the remaining pilgrims as scheduled. According to PUNCH Online, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed March 20, 2026, as the final date for visa processing.
