The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched a new discipline and sensitisation campaign in Katsina State aimed at addressing administrative and operational misconduct among personnel and strengthening professionalism across the command.
The initiative is part of a broader institutional reform programme introduced by Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed to improve accountability, transparency, and operational efficiency within the organisation nationwide.
The high-level sensitisation programme took place on Tuesday and focused on reinforcing ethical standards and improving service delivery in road safety operations.
Representing the Corps Marshal at the event, Corps Commander Aya Celestine Anzewu from the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja explained that the programme is designed to build a culture of discipline, integrity, and professionalism within the Corps.
According to Mohammed, adherence to the Service Compact with All Nigerians Charter (SERVICOM) remains essential in delivering efficient public service.
“The credibility of the FRSC depends on our discipline and professionalism. Personnel must uphold fairness, transparency, accountability, and timeliness in all operational activities,” he said.
The training session included interactive lectures, facility inspections, stakeholder consultations, and on-the-spot operational assessments.
These activities were designed to identify operational gaps and implement corrective measures that will improve the effectiveness of road safety services.
The programme also focused on strengthening command and supervisory systems to ensure better monitoring of officers and improved compliance with operational guidelines.
Speaking at the event, Katsina State Sector Commander Corps Commander Maxwell Lede reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ethical conduct and professional service delivery.
He noted that the sensitisation programme would further enhance integrity and efficiency among personnel while promoting humane and transparent road safety operations across the state.
“We remain committed to providing professional, transparent, and efficient road safety services to Nigerians. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of integrity in all operations,” Lede said.
The FRSC Katsina Command reiterated its determination to align its activities with the core values of the Corps while improving safety for road users.
In recent months, the FRSC leadership has intensified internal training programmes and monitoring systems to address misconduct and rebuild public confidence in the Corps’ operations nationwide.
