Explosions rocked parts of Tel Aviv after Iran launched a fresh missile barrage targeting Israel’s commercial hub, escalating tensions in the growing Israel–Iran conflict.
Emergency services responded quickly to several impact sites early Friday, while Israel’s air defense systems intercepted multiple incoming rockets.
Although buildings were damaged in parts of central Israel, officials confirmed that no casualties were reported.
The missile strikes followed an expansion of Israel’s military campaign against Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group operating in Lebanon.
Israeli leaders had vowed retaliation after Hezbollah joined the conflict following the death of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iranian Missiles Target Central Israel
According to Iranian state media, the missiles were fired toward “targets in the heart of Tel Aviv.”
Witnesses reported hearing two near-simultaneous waves of explosions across the city as Israeli defense systems attempted to intercept the projectiles.
Residents also reported seeing rocket trails lighting up the night sky over Netanya, a coastal city located north of Tel Aviv along Israel’s Mediterranean coastline.
Israeli police later confirmed that several projectiles had landed in central Israel, causing structural damage to buildings and forcing residents to evacuate.
Damage Reported but No Casualties
A residential building on the outskirts of Tel Aviv was struck by debris after a missile interception, sparking a fire that firefighters worked to extinguish.
Emergency teams also inspected multiple impact sites across the area.
Israel’s national emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, said its teams were deployed to all reported strike locations but did not record any injuries.
Authorities credited Israel’s advanced missile defense systems with preventing greater damage.
Heightened Alerts Near Lebanon Border
Meanwhile, Israel’s Home Front Command issued several rocket warning alerts to communities near the Lebanon border, where Hezbollah fighters have intensified attacks in recent days.
Security officials warned that further missile launches could occur as tensions between Iran, Hezbollah, and Israel continue to rise, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
