US actor Michael B. Jordan stunned audiences at the 2026 Actor Awards (formerly SAG Awards), winning Best Actor for his role in the vampire horror hit Sinners.

The film also claimed Best Ensemble Cast, solidifying its position as a leading contender ahead of the Oscars.

“I wasn’t expecting this at all,” Jordan said, praising his co-stars and director Ryan Coogler. He gave a heartfelt tribute to his mother, thanking her for supporting his acting journey from childhood.

Co-star Delroy Lindo described making Sinners as an “incredible journey,” expressing gratitude for the recognition from peers.

The awards come after Jordan and Lindo handled a tense moment at the Baftas, when a campaigner with Tourette’s involuntarily shouted a racial slur on stage.

Other Standout Winners

Jessie Buckley continued her awards season dominance, winning Best Actress for Hamnet, adapted from Maggie O’Farrell’s novel.

Buckley praised co-star Emily Watson, calling their shared scenes unforgettable.

In a surprise win, Amy Madigan captured Best Supporting Actress for her role in horror film Weapons, giving her renewed momentum before the Oscars.

Posthumously, Catherine O’Hara was honored as Best TV Comedy Actress for The Studio. Seth Rogen accepted on her behalf, highlighting her generosity, talent, and kindness.

Other television winners included Michelle Williams, Keri Russell, and Owen Cooper.

Lifetime Achievement and Awards Momentum

Legendary actor Harrison Ford received the Lifetime Achievement Award, reflecting on six decades of iconic roles in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Blade Runner.

With 16 nominations, Sinners is poised as a major Oscar contender, facing competition from films like One Battle After Another.

Jordan’s win adds critical momentum, making the Best Actor category one of the tightest races this awards season.
