The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that its online registration portal will open for prospective corps members preparing for the 2026 mobilisation exercise.
According to the scheme, eligible graduates can begin registration from March 12 to March 18, 2026.
The announcement was made through an official notice shared on the NYSC social media platforms, informing prospective corps members (PCMs) about the registration schedule and requirements.
NYSC explained that only graduates whose names appear on the approved Senate or Academic Board lists uploaded by their respective institutions will be eligible to complete the online registration process.
The scheme emphasised that graduates must first ensure their institutions have uploaded their details to the NYSC portal before attempting to register.
Without appearing on the approved Senate list, a prospective corps member will not be able to proceed with the mobilisation process.
Prospective participants were also advised to carefully verify their personal details before starting registration.
NYSC stressed that the names on their academic records, certificates, and identity documents must match the information uploaded by their institutions.
In addition, applicants must ensure that the name on their record with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) corresponds with the name on the Senate list and the NYSC portal.
Any discrepancy in names may delay or prevent successful mobilisation.
NYSC further encouraged graduates to confirm their details through the official Senate list verification portal before proceeding with the online registration process.
The development follows recent education reforms introduced by the Federal Government aimed at improving the credibility and transparency of academic records across Nigerian institutions.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, recently announced stricter measures to combat certificate fraud within the country’s education system.
According to him, graduates without proper academic documentation will not be eligible to participate in the NYSC scheme.
The minister noted that the government is strengthening institutional compliance and academic records management as part of broader reforms.
These efforts are also linked to the implementation of the Nigeria Education Repository and Data Bank, which aims to improve data integrity across the nation’s education sector.
With the portal set to open on March 12, eligible graduates are advised to prepare their documents early and follow the official NYSC registration guidelines to ensure a smooth mobilisation process.
