A 74-year-old retired technician, Francis Azenabor, has demanded that the Nigeria Police Force produce his son “dead or alive” following his disappearance after an alleged arrest in Lagos.

According to the grieving father, his 40-year-old son, Osas, was arrested during a police raid on November 1, 2024, near Ketu in Lagos State.

Osas, a commercial transporter operating around Ojuelegba and Ikorodu routes, reportedly called his wife shortly after the arrest, saying he was being held at Ketu Police Station.

However, by the time his wife arrived at the station, officers allegedly denied having him in custody.

Repeated searches across Ogudu, Mafoluku, and other nearby police stations yielded no record of his detention.

The family also checked detention facilities, including the Badagry prison yard, but found no trace of him.

The elderly father claims he later identified an officer allegedly involved in the arrest. Despite confronting the officer and reporting the matter to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), he said officials denied knowledge of the arrest.

He further alleged intimidation, assault, and obstruction while pursuing justice, even after hiring a lawyer and escalating the matter to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

At the command level, a team leader reportedly admitted conducting a raid on the said date but denied arresting Osas.

The conflicting statements have deepened suspicions of wrongful arrest, unlawful detention, or possible enforced disappearance.
Osas, a father of three, remains missing nearly two years later.

His children have reportedly dropped out of school due to financial hardship, while the family continues to demand transparency and accountability.

“I am tired of going from one office to another,” Azenabor said. “If he is alive, let me see him. If something happened, tell me the truth.”

The family is urging the police authorities and the Nigerian government to investigate the alleged police misconduct and provide answers.
