Seyi Tinubu Denies Allegations in King Mitchy, VeryDarkMan Controversy

President Bola Tinubu's son, Mr Seyi Tinubu

Seyi Tinubu, son of Bola Tinubu, has firmly denied allegations tying him to an escalating online dispute between social media personalities Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, and Mitchell Mukoro, widely called King Mitchy.

The controversy emerged after King Mitchy announced the rapid renovation of a dilapidated school, describing the six-day project as proof that impactful change is possible with genuine intent.

Her comments were interpreted by critics as indirect criticism of VeryDarkMan, who subsequently alleged that she was being used to promote the image of the current administration.

He also reportedly linked Seyi Tinubu to the situation, escalating the online narrative.

In a statement addressing the Seyi Tinubu controversy, the President’s son clarified that he met King Mitchy only once in a public setting, alongside other individuals, where he provided financial support for her NGO activities.

According to him, the support aligns with his long-standing philanthropic efforts focused on empowering Nigerian youth and grassroots initiatives.

Tinubu categorically rejected claims of any secret meetings, private arrangements, or improper conduct.

He described the allegations as false and politically motivated attempts to damage his reputation.

Taking direct aim at VeryDarkMan’s claims, Tinubu stated he would not be intimidated by what he termed fictional narratives.

Emphasising transparency and accountability, he maintained that charitable giving should not be politicised or weaponised.

Reaffirming his commitment to youth development, Seyi Tinubu called for de-escalation, responsible discourse, and fact-based conversations.

He concluded that Nigeria needs constructive engagement rather than sensationalism, insisting, “I will not be bullied.”
