The U.S. Department of State has instructed all American citizens and personnel in multiple Middle Eastern countries to shelter in place following coordinated US-Israel strikes on Iranian targets.

The strikes, which hit Tehran on Saturday, caused massive explosions and smoke plumes, prompting heightened regional tensions.

The advisory applies to Americans in Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, and Israel, with embassy officials urging citizens to remain indoors until further notice.

The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem reported that Israel has closed its airspace to civilian flights, and all departures from Ben Gurion Airport have been canceled.

Security warnings highlight that the situation is volatile and rapidly changing, with missile, rocket, and drone threats occurring without warning.

Americans are advised to stay in secure locations, monitor local media, avoid demonstrations, and follow instructions from local authorities.

Restrictions may also limit travel to sensitive areas, including the Old City of Jerusalem and the West Bank.

In the UAE, U.S. officials in Abu Dhabi and Dubai described the situation as regional hostilities and recommended maintaining a supply of food, water, and essential medications while avoiding large gatherings.

Similarly, embassies in Doha, Bahrain, and Amman urged Americans to contact local authorities in emergencies, stay alert, and use available assistance lines.

The strikes, described by President Donald Trump as preventive, targeted Iran’s missile and nuclear infrastructure.

Israel’s defense authorities termed the action a preemptive military operation, while Iranian state media confirmed several missile impacts in Tehran but reported no casualties among senior officials.

The US Department of State continues to advise Americans to enroll in the Smart Traveller Enrollment Program (STEP) for real-time updates and to be prepared to adjust plans based on security developments.

Stay safe and informed: Americans in the region are urged to remain vigilant, follow embassy instructions, and avoid all unnecessary travel until the situation stabilizes.
