National News – Missiles rained across the Middle East on Saturday as the war between Iran, Israel, and allied forces entered its second month.

Israeli forces confirmed multiple airstrikes on Tehran, following Iranian missile attacks on southern Israeli towns, wounding over 100 civilians.

The escalation comes after the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei by U.S.-Israel airstrikes, sparking retaliatory attacks across the region.

The conflict widened as Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen launched a missile targeting Israel, marking the first such attack since February 28.

UAE and Saudi authorities reported intercepted missiles and drone attacks, with minor injuries and fires in industrial zones.

In Israel, air raid sirens forced residents in Tel Aviv and northern cities to shelters; one man was killed, and several others injured.

Hezbollah joined Iran’s offensive with rocket attacks on northern Israel, prompting renewed Israeli strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs, endangering over a million displaced Lebanese residents.

The United States continues diplomatic efforts. Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, expressed optimism that Iran could engage with a 15-point U.S. peace plan “this week,” potentially ending hostilities.

However, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned of retaliation for Israeli attacks, while Revolutionary Guards threatened strikes on regional industrial targets.

The near-closure of the Strait of Hormuz has disrupted global oil markets, prompting G7 ministers to demand immediate restoration of safe navigation.

Thailand has reached an agreement with Iran to secure safe passage for its oil tankers.

With repeated missile exchanges and international diplomatic pressure mounting, the region remains volatile.

Analysts warn that without a resolution, the conflict could further destabilize Gulf security and global energy markets.

Washington has indicated its military campaign could achieve rapid results, though Iran and allied forces continue to escalate attacks.
