National News – Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has withdrawn from mediating the lingering rift between Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, citing renewed tensions and public backlash.
She made this known on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, through a detailed Instagram post, explaining why she has decided to step aside from further reconciliation efforts within the Nigerian film industry.
Ojo revealed that she had long-standing relationships with both actresses and had previously intervened when misunderstandings escalated publicly.
According to her, she reconciled with Akindele after past disagreements and later pleaded with both parties to embrace peace.
She said she cried, knelt, and begged them to resolve their issues privately to prevent further industry division.
The agreement, she explained, required both actresses to avoid online shade and settle disputes off-camera.
However, the truce reportedly collapsed in December 2025 when Abraham raised concerns about alleged sabotage affecting her cinema release.
Fans speculated about Akindele’s involvement, igniting fresh controversy and reigniting the feud.
The situation gained further attention after a viral video surfaced from the Sunday premiere of Ojo’s movie at Balmoral Event Centre in Lagos, where Akindele appeared to ignore Abraham.
Addressing another issue, Ojo clarified why Abraham did not feature in her upcoming film, The Return of Arinzo.
She explained that Abraham initially accepted a role but later withdrew due to exhaustion and travel commitments, forcing last-minute script changes.
