Suspected bandits have killed two residents and burnt multiple vehicles, including the official car of the Kajuru Local Government chairman, during a violent attack on Ugom community in Kaduna State.

The deadly assault, which occurred on Monday, has heightened fresh security concerns in the area following reports of sporadic gunfire and destruction of property.

How the Kaduna burial attack unfolded

According to community sources, the attackers invaded the Ehwakya area of Ugom community, shooting indiscriminately and causing widespread panic among residents.
The victims were identified as Bitrus David, 25, and Goma Idi, 40.

The gunmen reportedly extended their attack to Dogon-Noma, where residents had gathered for the burial of the father of politician Usman D. Stingo.

Eyewitnesses said mourners fled the burial venue as the assailants opened fire nearby, turning the solemn gathering into a chaotic scene.

Vehicles set ablaze, including council chairman’s official car

No fewer than four vehicles were reportedly burnt during the attack. Among them were the official vehicle of the Kajuru Local Government chairman, Dauda Madaki, and another belonging to Stingo.
