National News – US rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye, is set to headline all three nights of the 2026 Wireless Festival in London, marking his first UK performance in over a decade.
Fans can expect him to perform hits spanning his career, from his 2004 debut The College Dropout to 2016’s The Life of Pablo.
The festival runs from 10 to 12 July at Finsbury Park.
Ye’s return comes after years of controversy surrounding his antisemitic comments, for which he has publicly apologised.
In 2025, he faced global backlash, including being blocked from entering Australia, after releasing a song glorifying Adolf Hitler.
Adidas ended its partnership with him in 2022 due to these remarks.
In November 2025, he reportedly apologised during a meeting with Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto and in January 2026 detailed his bipolar type-1 diagnosis in a Wall Street Journal letter titled “To Those I’ve Hurt,” admitting his disorder influenced his past destructive behaviour.
Festival organisers describe Ye’s comeback as “an extraordinary chapter” in Wireless history. While no other acts have been announced, Ye’s set list is expected to cover his full discography.
He has gradually returned to major stages, headlining Rolling Loud in California in 2024 and performing in China, South Korea, and Mexico in recent years.
The announcement has sparked concern among the Jewish community. Benjamin Haim-Isaac, a young UK Jewish advocate, described the booking as “really horrific,” questioning the festival’s stance on antisemitism.
Campaign Against Antisemitism and the Community Security Trust echoed similar concerns, warning that giving Ye a major platform so soon after his remarks sends the wrong message.
Despite the controversy, Ye’s 2026 UK tour promises to draw tens of thousands of rap, R&B, and hip-hop fans daily, eager to experience his acclaimed hits live.
Festival-goers will watch closely to see whether Ye maintains his public contrition while performing in London.
