National News – The Movement for the Actualisation of Tinubu Agenda 2027 (MATA), a sociopolitical group, has officially launched a nationwide campaign aimed at educating Nigerians on the need to re-elect President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The campaign, which employs a state-to-state, door-to-door mobilization approach, is designed to bring the President’s achievements and future vision directly to citizens in their communities.
The group’s first point of call was Bayelsa State, where members paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Daniel Igali, at the Ministry of Sports Conference Hall in Yenagoa.
Chief Anthony Okpara, MATA’s South-South Zonal Leader, addressed the gathering saying, “This group is all about educating people, telling them what it means to give our President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a second tenure.”
“I am here today because of this group, which is focused on educating people about the importance of giving our President a second term in office.”
“We can clearly point to many areas where he has performed well, and we believe that if given another four-year mandate, he will achieve even more.”
“This movement is designed to spread that awareness by educating people from one doorstep to another. My presence here today is also to align with the Bayelsa chapter, especially as they are expected to visit my state in the coming weeks.”
“We want to ensure that this movement is unified and not limited to Bayelsa or the South-South alone. It is a nationwide effort, covering the South-East, South-South, North-East, North-Central, North-West, and Western regions.”
“We have coordinators across the country, and the purpose of our gathering today is also to appoint one of our chosen patrons in Bayelsa, Hon. Baraladei Igali, the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development.”
“Each state will have a patron to help guide the movement. This is not about political influence; it’s about education and support. Similar patron appointments will be made in other states, beginning with Imo State in the coming weeks.”
“The patron structure ensures that our movement receives guidance and maintains a strong connection to community leaders,” he said.
Also, Dr. Augustus Ogoun, National Coordinator of MATA, said “The state government’s initiatives in sports and youth development align with our objectives.”
“MATA is dedicated to mobilizing grassroots support and advancing the agenda of President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.”
“Engaging young people remains key to achieving our objectives. Our focus on grassroots mobilization ensures that young people are active participants in shaping the future of the country.”
In his remarks, Comrade James Adama, Bayelsa State Coordinator of MATA, noted that, “We share the vision of the Renewed Hope agenda.”
“Our goal is to cover all 105 wards in Bayelsa through door-to-door sensitization campaigns.”
“We intend to ensure no community is left uninformed about the President’s achievements and future plans.”
“MATA’s door-to-door strategy is central to informing citizens about the President’s policies and programmes.”
He also assured the commissioner of MATA’s resolve to support the APC in Bayelsa State, the Prosperity Government of Governor Douye Diri, and whoever the party will present in the next governorship election.
Responding, Hon. Baraladei Igali, Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, welcomed the group and commended its commitment to political education.
He stressed that they are all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and any move that promotes the interest of the party is welcomed.
He said, “Your efforts to educate and sensitize citizens are important for the democratic process.”
“Modern elections are increasingly driven by data and an informed citizenry. The state government supports your initiatives, and I encourage all members to remain focused and committed to your objectives.”
He assured MATA of his unwavering support and prayed God to guide them as they move from state to state to preach the Tinubu message.
The highlight of the visit was the formal conferment of Hon. Igali as Patron of MATA in Bayelsa, reinforcing the group’s strategy to engage respected local figures across states to provide guidance and lend credibility to its mission.
With its eye on all 36 states, MATA plans to combine grassroots engagement, data-driven strategies, and local patronage to achieve its educational and mobilization objectives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
