Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, joined several royal fathers and top dignitaries in Warri on Saturday as billionaire businessman and Chairman of Maton Engineering Nigeria Limited, Matthew Tonlagha, marked his 50th birthday with a lavish all-white praise party.

The high-profile celebration, held in Warri, Delta State, blended glamour, gratitude and deep spirituality, drawing influential personalities from across the state and beyond. Guests turned up in elegant white outfits, creating a serene and classy atmosphere befitting the golden jubilee milestone.

The venue was exquisitely decorated, with large banners at the entrance showcasing photographs of Tonlagha alongside his wife and children, offering guests a visual journey through his family life and success story.

The praise-filled evening featured electrifying gospel ministrations, with award-winning singer Mercy Chinwo delivering a powerful praise performance that had guests dancing joyfully. Adeyinka Alaseyori also ministered in worship, adding a deeply emotional and spiritual tone to the event.

Dressed in white traditional attire, Tonlagha took a reflective moment to share his life story and express gratitude to God and his mother.

He revealed that he was given an expired polio vaccine at birth, a challenge he continues to live with, describing himself as a “blessed child” whose life stands as a testimony of resilience and divine grace. He called on guests to honour mothers with a standing ovation.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who attended the event, delivered a congratulatory message, praising Tonlagha’s business achievements, philanthropy and positive impact on Delta State.

The celebration also attracted several royal fathers, who arrived in richly adorned Delta traditional regalia, adding cultural prestige and royal splendour to the occasion.

One of the night’s highlights was the cake-cutting ceremony, as Tonlagha and his wife jointly sliced an eye-catching cake creatively designed to resemble bundles of dollar notes.
