National News – Popular Nigerian TikTok personality Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has called on authorities to arrest fellow content creator Adesokan Adedeji Emmanuel, popularly known as Shank Comics, following a car crash that occurred during a livestream.
The incident reportedly happened in early 2026 when Shank Comics was streaming live while driving a Mercedes-Benz at high speed along a Lagos highway.
During the broadcast, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
The accident sparked widespread reactions on social media, especially after it emerged that the crash was his second publicly known accident within about six months.
The earlier crash, which occurred in November 2025, had already raised concerns about reckless driving and the dangers of recording content while operating a vehicle.
Despite the latest accident attracting significant online attention, there has been no official statement from the police or the Federal Road Safety Corps regarding the incident.
Peller reacted strongly during a livestream that quickly went viral across social media platforms.
Speaking from the front seat of a moving vehicle, he questioned what he described as unequal treatment of online influencers involved in similar incidents.
According to him, authorities should apply the same law enforcement standards to every public figure, regardless of popularity.
He argued that he faced legal consequences for a similar incident last year and believes the same action should be taken against Shank Comics.
In December 2025, Peller was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command after livestreaming himself driving recklessly along the Lekki–Epe Expressway before crashing his Mercedes-Benz.
The authorities described the act as dangerous and a threat to other road users.
He reportedly spent about a week in detention while facing charges related to reckless driving and using a phone while operating a vehicle.
The contrasting reactions to the two incidents have reignited debates online about celebrity privilege and inconsistent enforcement of traffic laws in Nigeria.
While some social media users agree with Peller’s call for accountability, others have dismissed his comments as an attempt to attract attention.
As of the time of reporting, neither the Lagos State Police Command nor the Federal Road Safety Corps has issued an official response regarding the recent crash involving Shank Comics.
