National News – Qatar successfully intercepted two missiles on Saturday after explosions were reported in the capital, Doha.

Authorities immediately evacuated critical areas as a safety precaution, following alerts sent to residents in the Musheireb district.

Witnesses observed interceptors neutralizing the projectiles over the downtown area, while people sought shelter in underground car parks.

Law enforcement and emergency personnel were deployed across the city to manage the situation, particularly near sites housing US and Qatari government offices.

The missile threat comes amid escalating regional tensions as Iran continues retaliatory strikes targeting Gulf states in response to US-Israeli military operations.

The Qatari Interior Ministry confirmed that evacuation measures were temporary but necessary to ensure public safety.

Lusail, home to Microsoft’s Qatari headquarters, and al-Gharafa, near the US embassy, also received evacuation warnings.

These precautions follow earlier measures taken on March 5 when US embassies in the region were vacated due to Iranian threats.

Iranian forces have declared intentions to target US and Israeli economic interests, including banks and technology firms.

While Qatar’s military efficiently intercepted the missiles, the events highlight the increasing vulnerability of Gulf urban centers to regional conflicts.

Residents, hotel guests, and employees of multinational companies scrambled to secure safe locations, emphasizing public anxiety over continued hostilities.

The Gulf region, rich in energy resources, has been directly affected by ongoing Middle East confrontations, and Qatar’s response underscores a proactive defense strategy.

Military authorities reassured the public that the danger had passed while continuing surveillance for potential follow-up attacks.

Authorities urge citizens to remain vigilant and comply with safety advisories as geopolitical tensions persist, reinforcing Qatar’s commitment to protecting civilians and critical infrastructure.
