National News – President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu are set to visit the United Kingdom from March 18 to 19, 2026, in a landmark trip aimed at strengthening Nigeria–UK relations.
Hosted by the British monarch at Windsor Castle, the visit will include viewing items from the Royal Collection that highlight Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.
The delegation features top government officials, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi, and key ministers across finance, trade, culture, and foreign affairs.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) UK Persons with Disabilities and Mental Health group hailed the Tinubu administration for promoting inclusive governance.
In a statement signed by Ayorinde Amoko and Funmi Adesanya, the group described the visit as a milestone for diplomacy, economic cooperation, and cultural exchange.
They emphasized that Nigeria’s growing global relevance is reflected in this high-profile trip and praised the administration’s focus on social equity and empowerment for persons with disabilities and mental health challenges.
The APC UK group also highlighted the opportunities for deeper collaboration in healthcare, education, economic empowerment, and social protection.
“This state visit not only strengthens diplomatic relations but also symbolizes hope for inclusive progress and mutual cooperation,” the statement said.
By fostering stronger partnerships, both nations aim to enhance systems that protect citizens’ rights, dignity, and opportunities.
The group reaffirmed its support for Tinubu’s leadership and inclusive agenda, expressing optimism that the visit will open new avenues for national development and international cooperation.
