National News – US President Donald Trump confirmed late Wednesday that American military forces stationed near Iran will remain in the region until a “real agreement” is fully achieved.
The announcement comes amid a fragile two-week ceasefire with Tehran, as tensions persist in the Middle East.
Trump emphasized that all US ships, aircraft, and personnel, along with additional ammunition and weaponry, will stay in place until the agreement is honored.
He also warned that stronger strikes could follow if talks fail, highlighting America’s readiness to respond.
The temporary truce, brokered earlier this week, allowed Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil passageway, while maintaining its control.
The channel is a strategic chokepoint through which one-fifth of global oil flows during peacetime.
Despite this, the truce’s stability remains uncertain, especially as Israel has continued military operations in Lebanon.
Iran also circulated additional demands in Farsi, including recognition of its uranium enrichment program, which Trump indicated would be addressed in future negotiations.
Ahead of planned talks in Pakistan, Trump reiterated that Iran will be prevented from obtaining nuclear weapons and assured the public that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open and safe for international shipping.
He described the US military as “loading up and resting, looking forward to its next mission,” signaling continued preparedness.
The situation raises questions on global energy security, international diplomacy, and regional stability.
The ongoing standoff between the US and Iran underscores the complexity of Middle East geopolitics and the challenges in achieving a lasting peace deal.
