National News – Popular Nigerian content creator and actress Kemi Ikuseedun, widely known as Mummy Wa, has revealed why she blends Korean and Nigerian cultures in her movies.

Speaking about her latest film, My Alien Lover, the actress explained that her goal has always been to create unique stories that stand out in the Nigerian entertainment industry while appealing to a wider African audience.

The actress disclosed that her interest in cultural fusion started with her earlier movie, My Sunshine.

According to her, she wanted to introduce a fresh storytelling style by combining elements from Korean and Nigerian traditions, languages, and lifestyles.

She explained that the latest project took a bigger and more ambitious direction, but the production team still ensured viewers across Africa could easily understand and enjoy the film.

Ikuseedun said the movie carefully blended English and Yoruba languages while gradually introducing Korean cultural influences.

She noted that forcing too many foreign elements into one production could make it difficult for audiences to connect with the story.

The actress stressed that cultural integration in African cinema should happen naturally to maintain entertainment value and audience engagement.

Speaking on the challenges faced during production, Mummy Wa revealed that language barriers and casting Korean actors were among the biggest hurdles.

She explained that some actors initially showed interest before withdrawing from the project, forcing the team to continue searching for suitable cast members.

She also said communication on set became difficult at times because Korean actors needed explanations about the actions and expressions of Nigerian actors during scenes.

Despite the difficulties, the actress described the experience as rewarding and successful.

She added that the film industry is evolving rapidly, and collaborations between different cultures could help Nigerian movies gain wider international recognition while promoting African storytelling globally.
