National News – The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Bashiru, has assured civil servants in Osun State that the party is not anti-worker and remains committed to protecting their interests.

Bashiru made the statement during a meeting with former Local Government Education Authority officials in Osogbo, ahead of the August 15 governorship election in the state.

Speaking on Saturday, Bashiru distanced the APC from individuals who had allegedly made derogatory comments about workers.

He stressed that such remarks were personal opinions and did not represent the official position or ideology of the ruling party.

According to him, civil servants remain an important part of Osun’s development and political process.

The APC national secretary explained that workers play a significant role in shaping public opinion because of their knowledge of governance and leadership.

He emphasized that the party respects their contributions and would continue to engage them constructively.

Addressing concerns over recent comments directed at workers, Bashiru urged civil servants not to allow the statements of a few individuals to influence their perception of the APC.

He noted that the party values their support and cooperation as it prepares for the upcoming governorship election.

Bashiru also called on APC members and candidates to remain united and avoid internal disputes that could weaken the party’s chances at the polls.

He urged party stakeholders to rally behind APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji and work collectively toward securing victory in the election.

Furthermore, he warned National Assembly aspirants within the party against focusing solely on personal ambitions.

According to him, the success of the APC in the governorship election is crucial to strengthening the party’s future political prospects in Osun State.

The remarks come as political parties intensify campaigns and consultations across Osun, with civil servants regarded as one of the most influential voting blocs in the state.
