The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State has accused former Governor Aminu Tambuwal of neglecting his constituency during his time in office, while praising Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration for prioritising grassroots development.
At an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Tambuwal, the party chairman, Isa Sadiq Achida, cited ongoing infrastructure projects, political appointments, education initiatives, and empowerment programmes as evidence of improved governance under the current administration.
Achida criticised Tambuwal’s involvement in a new political coalition, describing it as a regrouping of familiar politicians with no fresh agenda for Sokoto State. He urged youths to reject the coalition and support continuity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The APC also received defectors from the PDP, including three former councillors, who reportedly joined the party due to Governor Aliyu’s development-focused policies.
Party leaders disclosed that over 8,300 residents of Tambuwal Local Government have benefited from state government financial support schemes, while more than 80 indigenes have secured political appointments.
The APC leadership expressed confidence that the party’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, water supply, and power would secure victory in the 2027 elections.
