Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has reignited his long-standing feud with Floyd Mayweather Jr., openly mocking the boxing icon following the filing of a $340 million lawsuit against Showtime.
According to Yahoo News, the lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in a California state court, accusing Showtime—now owned by Paramount CBS—and former Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza of orchestrating a “long-running and elaborate scheme of financial fraud.”
Mayweather claims millions of dollars owed to him from blockbuster fights were allegedly diverted into accounts controlled by his former manager, Al Haymon. Notably, Haymon is not listed as a defendant in the suit.
Mayweather Alleges Missing Fight Earnings
The complaint alleges that proceeds from some of boxing’s biggest events—including Mayweather’s mega-fights against Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor—were misappropriated through opaque accounting practices.
Mayweather’s attorney, Bobby Samini, said the undefeated champion is prepared to fight the case in court.
“Floyd is one of boxing’s biggest pay-per-view draws. He generated hundreds of millions of dollars for Showtime. Now he takes this fight to the courtroom to recover what he rightfully earned,” Samini said.
Paramount Rejects Claims
Paramount, Showtime’s parent company, strongly denied the allegations.
A spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter:
“These baseless claims lack legal or factual merit. We strongly reject them and will respond accordingly through the court process.”
50 Cent Trolls Mayweather on Instagram
As the legal battle made headlines, 50 Cent wasted no time mocking Mayweather on Instagram.
“Oh no don’t cry now champ, they beat you out of $320 million… I told you let me read the contracts,” Jackson wrote, adding jabs about Mayweather needing big fights—including a bout with Mike Tyson—to recover the alleged losses.
The post quickly gained traction, with fans and celebrities reacting. Rapper Bow Wow dropped a skull emoji, while another fan commented that 50 Cent “never lets his opps get a pass.”
A Feud That Won’t Die
The feud between 50 Cent and Mayweather dates back to the early 2000s and intensified after a financial fallout in 2012. Jackson has repeatedly claimed he played a major role in Mayweather’s “Money” era and even helped broker the historic Mayweather vs. McGregor fight.
In 2014, 50 Cent famously challenged Mayweather to read a page from The Cat in the Hat for a $750,000 charity donation—an episode that went viral and cemented their rivalry in pop culture.
What the Lawsuit Reveals
Despite reportedly earning over $1.2 billion in career fight purses, Mayweather alleges nearly 40 percent of his earnings remain unaccounted for during his Showtime contract between 2013 and 2015.
That deal covered several nine-figure fights, including the Pacquiao bout, which alone generated an estimated $410 million in revenue.
As the lawsuit unfolds, Jackson continues to needle the retired champion, suggesting future blockbuster fights—possibly against Terence “Bud” Crawford—could help Mayweather recover financially.
Whether inside the ring or inside a courtroom, the drama surrounding “Money” Mayweather shows no sign of slowing down.
