National News – The member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Ginger Onwusibe, has confirmed that Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, will not oppose President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

Speaking on Sunday during the flag-off of “Project Switch On Bende” at Lohum Umuimenyi in Bende Local Government Area, Onwusibe said both leaders have earned another term based on their performance.

He emphasized that Governor Otti has the capacity to deliver results for the President in Abia State.

Onwusibe, a Labour Party chieftain, recounted his political journey from 1999, serving under past governors Orji Uzor Kalu, T.A. Orji, and Okezie Ikpeazu in various advisory and local government roles.

He praised Otti’s administration as surpassing previous governors, stating it has earned a second tenure.

The lawmaker also lauded Chief Frank Chinasa, the Abia State Chief Liaison Officer in Abuja, for facilitating the solar lighting project, which aims to enhance governance, security, and community development in Bende.

Chinasa explained that 486 solar-powered streetlights have been installed across Uzuakoli and Umuimenyi Ward, allowing safer streets, extended business hours for traders, and improved public confidence in governance.

He highlighted that the project aligns with Governor Otti’s vision for transforming Abia State and is supported by the Niger Delta Development Commission under its “Operation Light Up the Niger Delta” programme.

Chinasa urged residents to maintain and protect the new facilities.

Local government officials, including Bende Mayor Uwabunkeonye Bassey and event chairman Johnson Chukwu, commended Chinasa’s efforts.

Chukwu stated that good governance is measured by lives impacted, not wealth, and affirmed that political support could amplify these positive changes.

Governor Alex Otti’s endorsement of Tinubu’s second-term bid and the successful implementation of community projects like solar streetlights reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, security, and local development in Abia State ahead of the 2027 elections.
