National News – The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered the redeployment of several senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force to strategic positions across the country as part of efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, leadership capacity, and service delivery nationwide.
The announcement was made on Tuesday through a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placid.
According to the statement, the redeployment affects Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) who have been assigned to different departments, commands, and formations to improve policing and ensure an effective command structure.
Under the new arrangement, several AIGs were reassigned to key departments and zonal commands.
Among them, AIG Ado Emmanuel was posted to the Department of Research and Planning at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, while AIG Joseph Eribo was deployed to the Department of Armament.
AIG Miller Dantawaye will oversee the Department of Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche will handle the Department of Training and Development.
Other redeployments include AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo to Police Accounts and Budget, AIG Dahiru Mohammed to Zone 15 in Maiduguri, AIG Dankombo F. Morris to Zone 4 in Makurdi, and AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14 in Katsina.
Additionally, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh was deployed to Zone 2 in Lagos.
Several Commissioners of Police were also redeployed to state commands and specialised units.
CP Haruna Yahaya was posted to Jigawa State Command, CP Olugbenga Abimbola to Oyo State Command, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta State Command, and CP Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun State Command.
CP Michael Falade will head Ekiti State Command, while CP Yakubu Dankaro was assigned to Adamawa State Command.
Further postings include CP Muhammed Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory Command, CP Olatunji Fatai to Lagos State Command, CP Morkwap Dongshal to Taraba State Command, and CP Ahmed Bello to Zamfara State Command.
The police chief said the redeployment, which takes immediate effect, aims to enhance operational coordination and ensure effective policing across the country.
Disu urged the officers to bring their wealth of experience to their new assignments while maintaining professionalism, discipline, and commitment to public service.
