National News – The Miss Nigeria Organisation has officially addressed a viral video showing veteran actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde being approached by a young presenter on the red carpet during the 46th Miss Nigeria Patrons & Board Dinner.

The clip, which circulated widely on social media, captured the presenter asking Omotola to introduce herself, leaving her visibly uncomfortable.

The organisation clarified that the media representative was uninvited and had no formal affiliation with the private event.

The Patrons & Board Dinner, held on March 23, 2026, was an invite-only affair with strict event protocols.

In a statement released on March 24, the Miss Nigeria Organisation apologised to Omotola for the incident, describing her as a valued member and advocate for young creatives in Nigeria.

They noted that uninvited media presence often leads to unexpected situations, citing multiple individuals who invaded Omotola’s personal space during the event.

The statement emphasized that the viral clip was edited and did not fully capture the context.

According to the organisation, Omotola initially declined the interview, questioning the presenter’s approach, saying: “You are here with who? I should tell you my name? You are not ready.” She later agreed to an interview while seated.

The organisation condemned the actions of anyone approaching guests without invitation, labeling such behavior as unacceptable.

The Miss Nigeria Organisation also encouraged the public and media to respect privacy and event protocols, urging support for Omotola by watching her latest film, Mother’s Love, with proceeds benefiting Slum2School Africa.

The event itself was hailed as a success, with attendees celebrating both the Patrons Ball and the achievements of the Miss Nigeria community.

This incident underscores the importance of media etiquette, respecting celebrities’ personal space, and the value of controlled event access to prevent viral misunderstandings.
