National News – Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face/2Baba, recently declared that Nigeria is “better off” now than in previous years.

The music icon made the statement during an interview on Wazobia TV, responding to references about his classic song E Be Like Say, which highlighted societal and political challenges that still resonate today.

He emphasized that, despite ongoing national issues, there has been notable progress in the country over the years.

2Face/2Baba explained that while he once engaged in advocacy roles requiring neutrality, he continues to contribute personally to national development.

“It’s still ongoing, but I will continue doing it. I will set up my own position and try to make a difference. I’ll try to make it work because I know where I stand,” he said.

The singer also described himself as a “self-appointed ambassador of Nigeria,” representing the nation wherever he goes.

His optimistic perspective has sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with his assessment and others questioning it in light of challenges like economic hardship, insecurity, and governance issues.

During the interview, 2Face highlighted Nigeria’s growth and resilience, citing improvements in social, political, and economic spheres.

He maintained that citizens can take pride in the country’s progress while still acknowledging the work that remains.

The remarks come at a time when national conversations focus heavily on governance, youth engagement, and security concerns, making his statement both timely and controversial.

2Face’s engagement with social advocacy and representation reinforces his role as more than just an entertainer.

By positioning himself as a national ambassador, he aims to inspire citizens to contribute to positive change while drawing global attention to Nigeria’s evolving landscape.
