National News – Lagos socialite and nightclub entrepreneur Mike Nwogu, famously known as Pretty Mike, has officially reopened his popular nightclub, Proxy Lagos, after nearly seven months of closure following a major NDLEA raid.
The reopening marks a significant comeback for Pretty Mike, who faced both personal grief and professional setbacks during this challenging period.
The closure of Proxy Lagos occurred after the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) raided the nightclub in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The raid resulted in the arrest of over 100 patrons, including Pretty Mike and former Big Brother Naija housemate Tuoyo Ideh.
Authorities recovered cartons of banned substances, including Loud and laughing gas, prompting a forfeiture suit and charges of conspiracy, unlawful possession, and allowing illegal drug use on the premises.
Pretty Mike and the club’s supervisor, Joachim Hillary, were later granted bail of N50 million by the Federal High Court in Lagos.
In an emotional Instagram video, Pretty Mike reflected on the impact of losing his father, whom he described as his hero, alongside the devastation caused by the raid.
“Beyond the lights, the cameras, and the grand entrances, I’m still human.
That event broke me in ways I am still learning to understand,” he said.
He thanked fans, staff, and supporters for standing by him, calling the reopening a “collective comeback” for everyone connected to Proxy Lagos.
He added, “Proxy is more than a nightclub; it’s a culture, a vibe, and a place where Lagos comes alive.
We are rising after grief and rebuilding stronger than ever.”
The reopening underscores resilience and the determination to overcome setbacks, while reviving nightlife culture in Lagos.
