Anambra APC Rejects APGA Alliance Claims

National News – The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has rejected claims that it is collaborating with the All Progressives Grand Alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections, countering assertions made by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

Speaking in Awka on Friday during the inauguration of new party executives, APC state chairman Emmanuel Anosike said there is no evidence of any political partnership between both parties.

He dismissed the “progressives working together” slogan promoted by Soludo as misleading and urged party members across the 21 local government areas to remain focused.

Anosike argued that genuine collaboration would reflect in shared governance, such as cabinet appointments or political inclusion, which he said has not happened.

He maintained that the APC is instead strengthening its internal structure and mobilising support to secure victory in 2027.

The dispute highlights growing political tension in Anambra, where APGA remains dominant while APC seeks to expand its foothold.

Analysts say Soludo’s rhetoric may be aimed at positioning APGA within a broader national “progressive” bloc aligned with President Bola Tinubu, but the APC’s rebuttal suggests deep mistrust.

Local reactions have been mixed. Some residents view the exchange as typical pre-election positioning, while others believe clearer alliances could benefit development in the South-East.

A political observer in Awka noted that “voters are more interested in governance outcomes than party slogans.”

Looking ahead, the APC insists it is building momentum with support from regional leaders such as Hope Uzodinma and Francis Nwifuru.

The party says ongoing federal projects will strengthen its appeal.

The situation underscores a broader question: whether political messaging or concrete collaboration will shape voter decisions.

How both parties navigate this narrative could significantly influence the 2027 electoral outcome in Anambra and the wider South-East.
