National News – The Nigerian DJ Association (NDJ) has imposed a temporary ban on all songs by Burna Boy, directing DJs in Nigeria and abroad to remove the artist from their playlists.

The action follows a reported physical clash between Burna Boy and DJ Tunez at a private Lagos nightclub event on April 7, 2026.

Eyewitnesses said the disagreement escalated into a confrontation involving multiple individuals, leaving DJ Tunez allegedly assaulted.

In a statement posted on Instagram, the NDJ expressed full support for DJ Tunez and emphasized the need for solidarity and professionalism in the entertainment industry.

The association urged all DJs to reject discrimination based on skin color, religion, gender, or background, highlighting the principle that love and respect should guide interactions among artists and DJs.

The NDJ further noted, “Burna Boy’s music is temporarily out of our DJs’ playlists until further notice.

We will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident involving DJ Tunez.

All DJs nationwide should remain vigilant and respectful toward any artist during events.”

The organization stressed the importance of equality, transparency, and universal human rights within the Nigerian DJ community.

As of now, Burna Boy’s management has not responded to the allegations or the NDJ ban.

The association’s decision comes amid growing scrutiny over artist conduct in public events and the responsibility of DJs to maintain safe and professional spaces for all performers.

Observers suggest this ban could impact Burna Boy’s performances and collaborations in Nigeria and the diaspora until the issue is resolved.

The incident raises questions about event security, artist behavior, and the role of professional bodies in enforcing industry standards.

Fans and industry stakeholders are closely watching for updates from both Burna Boy’s team and the Nigerian DJ Association regarding the next steps and potential reconciliation.
