National News – An unnamed star from Strictly Come Dancing who was arrested last October on suspicion of rape will not face criminal charges, Hertfordshire Police confirmed.

The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was arrested on 13 October 2025 and released on bail while the investigation continued.

Police consulted the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) before concluding that there was “insufficient evidence” to bring charges.

The alleged victim, a woman connected to the star through the show but not a contestant or professional dancer, had claimed the incident occurred following a BBC event.

Hertfordshire Police stated that the investigation was unrelated to the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing, which films at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, and airs from September to December.

The suspect’s bail was extended on 6 January 2026 to allow detectives to conduct further inquiries, which have now concluded with no further action to be taken.

This case follows a separate arrest in August 2025 of another individual linked to the BBC dance show, who was also investigated for alleged rape and non-consensual intimate image abuse.

The details of that person’s involvement in the program remain unclear.

Police emphasized that the decision not to charge does not affect any potential civil proceedings.

The star can now resume his public and professional life without legal restrictions related to this case.

The BBC has not commented on the matter, respecting the ongoing legal process and the privacy of all involved.

Hertfordshire Police’s statement highlights the importance of evidence in criminal prosecutions and reinforces that not all allegations result in formal charges.

This update brings closure to a high-profile investigation that attracted significant media attention since October 2025.
