National News – Forty teams are ready to compete in the third edition of the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer divisional qualifiers, aiming to showcase talent across Lagos.
The tournament, featuring five divisions, will see three teams from each division qualify for the Lagos State championship later this year.
The official draw ceremony took place at the Spires headquarters in Victoria Island, with team coaches, players, managers, and technical staff in attendance.
In Lagos Island, Loverboy FC will face Dolphin FC, JS Sport FA meets The Alphas FC, Greater Tomorrow Kings FC awaits its opponent, and Cohesion All Stars takes on White Tigers.
In Epe, Prime 11 squares off against Abayomi FC, Prodigy Football Club meets Netbreakers FC, Angos Sports FC faces Top Football Club, and The Crown FC plays Papa SA.
Ikorodu’s fixtures include Godbless FC versus Better Tomorrow, Oreon & Leon FC against Amuludun Football Club, Adhoc FA versus Diamond FC, and Lofty Skills facing New Generation Football Club.
Ikeja division sees Dboss FA against Blood and Sand FC, Zion FC versus Useful Youth FC, Akanbite FC hosting ASD Academy, and Osykay FC facing Wasola FA.
Badagry will feature Royal FC versus Smiller All Champions, Divinely Blessed FC versus Chekas United, Rising Star FC against All Saints Football Club, and Olhan FA facing Emaljus FC.
The tournament’s initiator, Bankole Allibay, highlighted the goal of providing players exposure for contracts with African and European clubs.
“Several foreign clubs have shown interest in players from previous editions.
Their representatives will attend the Lagos State championship,” he explained.
Additionally, the Sports Meet-Tech segment has been expanded to involve more participants beyond the registered players.
The third Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer divisional qualifiers kick off on Saturday, April 11, in the Ikeja division.
Fans, scouts, and stakeholders will witness exciting street soccer action and emerging talent across Lagos divisions.
