National News – The All Progressives Congress has extended the deadline for the sale and submission of nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made on Thursday in Abuja by the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, following a National Working Committee meeting.
According to Meseko, the sale of forms, initially scheduled to end on May 2, 2026, will now close at midnight on May 4, 2026, while submission has been extended to midnight on May 5, 2026.
He explained that the adjustment became necessary due to a public holiday and increasing demand from aspirants who needed more time to complete the process.
The APC had originally planned to begin the sale of forms on April 25, 2026, but the exercise started three days later, affecting the earlier timeline.
Despite the extension, Meseko confirmed that all other activities, including the screening of aspirants, will proceed as scheduled, beginning on May 6, 2026.
He urged party members, stakeholders, and aspirants contesting for positions such as the State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidency to take note of the revised dates and comply accordingly.
Meanwhile, stakeholders from Taraba State have demonstrated strong support for Governor Agbu Kefas by purchasing his nomination and expression of interest forms for a second-term bid.
A delegation led by Senator Haruna Manu collected the forms in Abuja, describing the move as a reflection of widespread backing within the party.
Manu stated that key APC stakeholders from Taraba were present and expressed confidence that even more supporters would participate before the submission deadline.
The development signals early political alignment within the party as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
