National News – The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the death of the wife of its state chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, Fatimah Lawal, who passed away on Friday in Ile-Ife after a brief illness at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC).
The party confirmed the incident in a statement, describing it as a painful loss to the Lawal family and the APC in Osun State.
She was described as a virtuous Muslim woman, devoted wife, and pillar of support to her husband, whose life reflected humility, kindness, and service to family and community.
The APC said her passing is an irreparable loss, not only to her immediate family but also to party members across Osun State.
Also reacting, the campaign council of APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji expressed shock over the sudden death, describing it as tragic and difficult to comprehend.
The council urged the chairman to take solace in faith, noting that death remains an inevitable end for all mortals.
According to family sources, Fatimah Lawal will be buried in accordance with Islamic rites on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 12 noon in Olasode, Ile-Ife.
The APC extended condolences and prayed for the repose of her soul and strength for the bereaved family.
The incident has drawn condolences across political and community circles, highlighting her role as a supportive spouse and respected mother within the party structure in Osun State.
Political observers say the loss has united APC members in Osun State in mourning, as tributes continue to pour in, emphasizing her humility, family values, and contributions to the political support system around the state party leadership.
