ADC Ready for 2027 Elections, Denies Exclusion Claims

By Our Correspondent

National News – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared its full readiness to participate in Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, firmly rejecting rumours that it may be excluded from the process.

The party made this known on Saturday through its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, who clarified that the ADC remains legally qualified and strategically prepared to field candidates across all elective positions.

Speaking on what prompted the clarification, Abdullahi addressed concerns arising from the recent ruling of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on the party’s leadership crisis.

He explained that the speculation about exclusion is baseless, misleading, and designed to create unnecessary confusion among supporters and the public.

The party’s position comes amid reports linking prominent political figures such as Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to possible political shifts ahead of the 2027 elections.

However, the ADC insists that such developments do not affect its preparedness or its determination to remain a strong opposition platform.

The ADC said it is committed to addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges, including insecurity, economic hardship, and limited opportunities for citizens.

It stressed that its goal is to offer a credible alternative and prevent the emergence of a one-party system.

The party revealed ongoing nationwide mobilisation, grassroots engagement, and strict adherence to electoral laws.

Abdullahi emphasised that there is no legal impediment to the ADC’s participation and that the party is focused on building structures capable of winning elections.

The ADC also called on its members and supporters to ignore unfounded claims and remain committed to its vision, assuring Nigerians that it is fully prepared to contest and make a significant impact in the 2027 general elections.
