National News – Former Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has confirmed ongoing consultations with key political stakeholders as he weighs his next move amid growing uncertainty within the African Democratic Congress.
The former Kano State governor disclosed that discussions are currently underway with leaders of the National Democratic Congress and the Peoples Redemption Party.
The ADC chieftain explained that internal crises and legal battles have created uncertainty within the party.
He referenced a recent Supreme Court judgment that upheld the legitimacy of the David Mark-led National Working Committee but also returned parts of the dispute to a lower court, leaving the party in a fragile state.
Further complicating matters, a Federal High Court ruling reportedly invalidated the party’s recent convention, while the Attorney General of the Federation initiated moves to deregister the ADC.
Kwankwaso noted that these developments mirror challenges that forced his earlier exit from the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
On his presidential ambition, the former governor clarified that he has neither declared interest nor endorsed any candidate for 2027.
He reiterated his history of party loyalty, recalling his participation in previous primaries and subsequent support for winning candidates.
Kwankwaso assured supporters that a final decision will be communicated through official channels after consultations are concluded.
He also dismissed concerns over his absence at recent party meetings, attributing it to unavoidable commitments.
