National News – The Nigerian Army has confirmed the arrest of a blogger and social media influencer, Justice Chidiebere, popularly known as Justice Crack, over allegations of inciting soldiers and spreading misleading information online.

The arrest, announced on Saturday, follows complaints from military personnel who reportedly engaged the influencer on issues related to welfare and feeding conditions.

According to a statement issued by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Appolonia Anele, the incident came to light after soldiers communicated grievances that were later amplified on social media.

Preliminary investigations suggest that during these interactions, the blogger allegedly encouraged dissatisfaction among troops, raising concerns within military authorities.

The Army stated that the discussions between the influencer and the soldiers covered a wide range of sensitive matters, some of which allegedly bordered on subversive conduct.

Officials warned that such engagements could undermine discipline within the ranks and pose risks to national security if left unchecked.

Authorities confirmed that both the blogger and the involved soldiers were taken into custody for further investigation.

While the soldiers remain under military detention, Chidiebere has been handed over to relevant civilian authorities for possible prosecution under applicable laws, including violations of the Armed Forces’ Social Media Policy.

The Army emphasized that cultivating discontent among personnel, especially by civilians, carries serious implications for institutional stability.

It reiterated its commitment to upholding discipline, safeguarding sovereignty, and ensuring that all actions are carried out within the framework of the law.

This development highlights growing concerns over the role of social media in military affairs and the boundaries between freedom of expression and national security.

Investigations are ongoing, and authorities say further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
