National News – President Bola Tinubu has rescheduled the commencement of his three-nation official visit from Saturday to Sunday, May 3, 2026, following an earlier announcement by the State House.

The adjustment was confirmed by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, via his verified social media handle.

The President was initially scheduled to depart Abuja for France, Kenya, and Rwanda on Saturday, but the itinerary has now been shifted by 24 hours.

Although no official reason was provided for the change, the trip remains intact and will proceed as planned.

Tinubu’s diplomatic tour will begin in France before moving to Nairobi, Kenya, where he is expected to attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11 to 12, 2026.

The summit will bring together African leaders and French President Emmanuel Macron alongside Kenyan President William Ruto to discuss energy transition, climate action, and digital transformation across the continent.

Following the Nairobi engagement, the President will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum holding from May 14 to 15, 2026.

The forum, organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, will focus on boosting investment opportunities, private sector growth, and economic reforms in Africa.

Tinubu is expected to hold strategic meetings with global business leaders and policymakers during the tour and return to Nigeria after the Rwanda event.

Presidency officials said the visit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and attracting foreign investment while deepening regional cooperation across Africa.

Security and protocol arrangements have been adjusted in line with the revised departure schedule, and all other segments of the itinerary remain unchanged.

Analysts say the diplomatic engagements are aimed at reinforcing Nigeria’s role in continental economic dialogue and expanding bilateral ties with key global partners.
