National News – The members of the Obidient Movement, Bayelsa Chapter, have declared their approval and unwavering support for the decision made by Mr. Peter Obi to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
In an exclusive interview with National News in Yenagoa, the Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Bayelsa Chapter, Chris Ace Erefinyo, described the move as a necessary step in realizing the vision and ambition of Mr. Obi to answer the cries of Nigerians for good governance.
Chris stated that the former Anambra State Governor and Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in 2023 has the competence, the capacity, the credibility and the compassion to transform Nigeria.
He noted that while the NDC is a relatively new party, it, however, has experienced political figures like Hon. Seriake Dickson and the full support of the Obidient Movement in all 36 states and the FCT.
Chris also noted that one of the perks of being a new party is the absence of internal conflict among party members making it an ideal party for reform.
“We are all aware of the crisis in almost all the opposition parties, so the NDC being a newer party, we believe it will go a long way in aiding our ambition of Peter Obi becoming the president of Nigeria,” he said.
He advised Nigerians to put aside their prejudice concerning religion or ethnicity and unite to vote for a better Nigeria.
“We can all see the state of the country. People are barely surviving, businesses are crumbling, people are dying, and many Nigerians are starving.”
“So my advice for the masses is that in the coming election, we should put aside our differences and vote for good governance,” he added.
Also speaking, Mr. Baratuaipri Agbedia, a former grassroots coordinator of the Obidient Movement, assured Nigerians that Peter Obi is a candidate with all the qualities of a competent leader.
“Peter Obi is more than qualified for the job. He has the experience and the ambition to take Nigeria out of the dumps,” Agbedia stated.
According to him, Peter Obi is the one who can bring about the change the country so desperately needs.
A member of the Obidient Movement, Mr. Tommy Wilkinson-Ere, told our correspondent that Peter Obi is a man of integrity who has the benefit of the people at heart.
Mr. Tommy highlighted that the NDC is a platform that meets the criteria for Peter Obi to freely and confidently contest for the 2027 presidential election.
“There were cogs in his way in other parties. But the coast is clear in the NDC, So Obi now has a sound footing to contest and emerge victorious in the presidential election,” he said.
He further advised all Nigerians to come out in their numbers to vote for Peter Obi and support his campaign to end the suffering of the masses.
