National News – Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno has formally submitted his nomination form for the 2027 governorship race under the All Progressives Congress, seeking the support of party members ahead of the APC primaries.

The governor disclosed this on Wednesday after returning from Abuja, where he completed the nomination process.

Speaking to Government House correspondents at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, Eno said his second-term ambition is driven by the need to complete ongoing development projects and expand economic growth across Akwa Ibom State.

According to him, more than 82 projects initiated by his administration are still at different stages of completion and require continuity beyond his current tenure.

The governor explained that his administration has recorded progress in infrastructure, social development, and public services over the past three years.

However, he stressed that many of the projects cannot be fully completed within a single term.

He therefore appealed to APC stakeholders and party faithful to support his re-election bid during the upcoming primaries.

Eno also thanked residents of Akwa Ibom for their continued support since he assumed office.

He expressed optimism that the people would sustain their confidence in his administration as his government works to deliver more dividends of democracy.

The governor further stated that his administration remains committed to improving the welfare of citizens, accelerating development projects, and strengthening governance in the state.

Political observers believe his early declaration could shape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Akwa Ibom.
