National News – Kobbie Mainoo has won the Premier League Player of Matchweek 35 award, narrowly beating Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi despite his strong performance for Nottingham Forest on May 4, 2026.

The recognition followed official fan voting after a series of standout league fixtures across England.

The Premier League confirmed Mainoo as the winner after he secured 54 per cent of fan votes following Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Liverpool.
