National News – LeBron James has admitted he is uncertain about his basketball future after the Los Angeles Lakers crashed out of the 2026 NBA Playoffs following a 115-110 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night.

The loss completed a 4-0 Western Conference semi-final sweep in favour of Oklahoma City, ending the Lakers’ campaign and raising fresh questions over whether the 41-year-old NBA icon will return for another season.

James, who is currently out of contract, delivered 24 points and 12 rebounds during the game but could not prevent the Lakers from suffering elimination before their home supporters in Los Angeles.

Speaking after the match, James said he plans to spend time with his family before making any decision about retirement or continuing his career.

He explained that his future would depend largely on whether he still feels committed to the intense preparation and discipline required to compete at the highest level of professional basketball.

The four-time NBA champion stressed that he has nothing left to prove after breaking multiple league records and winning championships throughout his career.

However, he noted that the desire to keep competing for titles remains one of the strongest motivations pushing him forward.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma City continued its dominant playoff run with another impressive performance led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 35 points to help the reigning NBA champions advance to the Western Conference finals.

Elsewhere in the Eastern Conference semi-finals, Donovan Mitchell inspired the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 112-103 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

Mitchell scored 43 points, including 39 in the second half, as Cleveland levelled the series 2-2 ahead of game five in Detroit on Wednesday.
