The APC primary election was conducted in Maiduguri on Sunday, where party officials confirmed that Kaumi Zulum secured the ticket unopposed.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Primary Election Committee, Prophet Jones Erue, announced the results during a press briefing in Maiduguri.

He explained that the APC concluded primaries successfully in nine out of the 10 federal constituencies across Borno State, describing the process as peaceful, transparent and orderly.

According to Erue, several aspirants emerged through consensus arrangements approved by party delegates and stakeholders.

He also declared Fati Alkali winner for the Mobbar, Guzamala, Abadam and Kukawa Federal Constituency, while Usman Zana secured the APC ticket for Magumeri, Kaga and Gubio Federal Constituency.

Ahmed Jaha was returned as candidate for Gwoza, Chibok and Damboa Federal Constituency, while Satomi Ahmed clinched the Jere Federal Constituency ticket.

Abdulkadir Rahis won the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council seat with 38,576 votes, and Mustapha Abdullahi emerged victorious for Bama, Ngala and Kala-Balge Federal Constituency with 20,509 votes.

However, the Askira, Uba and Hawul Federal Constituency primary election was declared inconclusive following a petition submitted by aspirant Audu Zali.

Erue stated that the committee would await the report of the Appeals Committee before announcing a final result.

The APC committee chairman added that the primaries complied fully with the Electoral Act, party constitution and approved guidelines.

He noted that only two constituencies conducted direct primary elections, while most candidates emerged through consensus and affirmation without disputes or protests.
