National News – Two prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirants in Kebbi State, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah and Sani M. Kabiru, have withdrawn from the party’s senatorial primaries scheduled for May 18, 2026.

Their exit comes just days before the election, raising questions about internal party dynamics and candidate selection.

Na’Allah, former senator representing Kebbi South, announced his withdrawal in a letter dated May 17 addressed to the APC state chairman in Birnin Kebbi.

He said his decision followed consultations and concerns about the party’s disposition toward the upcoming primary election.

He explained that after more than 14 years as a founding member of the APC, he chose to step down in the interest of unity, peace, and progress within the party.

He also expressed gratitude to his supporters and constituents who contributed financially and morally to his campaign.

Similarly, Kabiru, popularly known as Kabiru Sani Giant, withdrew from the Kebbi Central senatorial race. He communicated his decision in a letter dated May 16 to party leadership.

Kabiru cited personal, political, and strategic considerations for his withdrawal. He thanked stakeholders, campaign teams, and supporters for their loyalty and encouragement.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and pledged continued support for the party’s success in future elections.

The dual withdrawals highlight growing political realignments within the APC in Kebbi State ahead of the primaries.

Analysts say the development may influence internal negotiations and future nominations.

The situation also raises key questions about unity, fairness, and stability within the party as it prepares for the senatorial contests.
