National News – President and Chief Executive of Aliko Dangote’s Dangote Industries Limited on Wednesday hosted Femi Otedola, Chairman of First HoldCo Plc, alongside senior executives of the financial group at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex in Lagos.
The visit highlighted growing cooperation between Africa’s industrial and financial leaders as they seek to strengthen regional investment, energy security, and economic development across the continent.
According to a statement shared by Dangote Group on its verified X account, the meeting focused on the future of African industrialisation and the importance of long-term investment in local production capacity.
The company explained that the engagement represented a shared vision among leading African investors who believe the continent’s future depends on strong infrastructure, sustainable energy projects, and self-sufficiency in key sectors.
The refinery visit also showcased the scale of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery project, regarded as one of the largest industrial investments in Africa.
Company officials described the facility as a symbol of what can be achieved when ambition, funding, and execution are combined effectively.
They added that the refinery continues to attract attention from major institutions and business leaders interested in supporting industrial growth within Africa.
Dangote Group further stated that partnerships between financial institutions and industrial organisations remain essential for boosting manufacturing, creating jobs, and improving economic stability.
Analysts believe collaborations of this nature could help reduce dependence on imported petroleum products while increasing regional production capacity.
Photos released from the meeting showed Dangote addressing Otedola and members of the First HoldCo executive team during their tour of the refinery complex.
The visit comes at a time when African economies are seeking stronger investment strategies to support industrial expansion and long-term economic transformation.
