UniAbuja Appeals for Help to Find Missing 100-Level Accounting Student, Sadiya Usman

The University of Abuja has launched a public appeal for assistance in locating Sadiya Usman, a 100-level student of the Department of Accounting, who has been reported missing.

In a statement released on Thursday, Dr Habib Yakoob, Acting Director of Information and University Relations, disclosed that Sadiya was last seen leaving her residence at Kontagora Estate, Gwagwalada, Abuja, at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 18 February 2026, en route to the university’s Main Campus to write her GST 111 CBT examination. She has not been seen since.

The university noted that efforts by her guardian to contact her have been unsuccessful, as her phone remains unreachable and her current whereabouts are unknown.

According to the statement, the university has “activated internal safety protocols” and is collaborating closely with relevant authorities to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to locate Sadiya safely.

Expressing concern for the student’s welfare, the institution said the University of Abuja community is deeply worried and urged anyone with information about her location to contact the nearest police station or report directly to the Directorate of Safety at the university.

The university reaffirmed its commitment to the safety and security of students and promised to provide timely updates as the search progresses.
