Senator Ned Nwoko donates 600 bags of rice to Anioma constituents in Abuja for Lent and Ramadan

Senator Ned Nwoko has distributed 600 bags of rice to Anioma indigenes residing in Abuja in commemoration of the Lenten and Ramadan fasting seasons.

The gesture, according to the lawmaker, was aimed at cushioning the effects of the current economic hardship during the spiritually significant period for both Christians and Muslims.

Speaking at the event, held in Abuja, Nwoko—represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Prince Chiedu Abili—said the intervention was a show of solidarity with his constituents from the 94 wards and nine local government areas that make up Delta North Senatorial District.

He urged the Anioma people to remain united and continue to support the creation of Anioma State, the administration of President Bola Tinubu, and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“As the 2027 general elections gradually gather momentum, it is imperative that we prepare to carry out our civic responsibilities of voting for our leaders,” he said.

“We can only do this if we have our Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), so I encourage everyone to obtain theirs.”

In his remarks, Chief Luke Enelichi, President General of Izu Anioma, Abuja, commended the senator for the thoughtful and timely initiative, describing it as both generous and spiritually uplifting.

He prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and good health for Nwoko, adding that the lawmaker had brought national recognition and pride to the Anioma people through purposeful representation.

Representatives of various town unions and women’s groups also lauded the senator for his sustained engagement and pledged their continued support.

The event concluded with the distribution of no fewer than 600 bags of rice to beneficiaries drawn from across the Anioma communities in the Federal Capital Territory.
